Mr. Humphries successfully coordinated the bi-partisan and inclusive resolution of a plethora of legal, public policy, media and other problems which elevated the national visibility and impact of the Congressional Black Caucus during his tenure as Legal Counsel and Media Director for the Caucus; convened and orchestrated a Summit that attracted nearly 10,000 leaders from diverse fields including law, health, economics, business owners, firefighters and telecommunications technology as the National Director and General Counsel for the Black Congress on Health, Law and Economics Foundation.
He was a major architect of the diverse national “Buckle Up” (seatbelts) partnership which included the US Department of Transportation, General Motors, Meharry Medical College, the National Football League Players Association, and the Congressional Black Caucus, among others. This health and safety joint venture changed the attitude of America’s diverse populations and increased the nation’s African American seat belt use from 51% to an unprecedented 77%, and the nation’s overall seat belt use from 73% to 75% in a three (3) year period.
In addition to his legal expertise in “What remarkable associations do that others don’t”, Mr. Humphries is sought after for public speaking engagements on a number of topics including: How to Build Your Association into a Multi-Million Dollar Powerhousewith Influence in Influential Circles; as a trainer on various subjects including critical thinking skills and leadership; as a guest lecturer at universities; and to serve on various boards both locally and nationally. He is a life member of the University of Michigan’s Letterman’s Club (football) and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
